Twelve Days of Christmas Giving

From Christmas Day we are highlighting our 2020 Corporate Santas – those organisations that have ensured the charity’s Christmas Gift Appeal has been a success at this most difficult time.

On the first day of Christmas...
Wellhouse Leisure donated £2,000 to pay for £50 gift vouchers to be included in all the Christmas Gift Boxes for young cancer patients in hospitals throughout Yorkshire. A huge thank you to David and Sarah Elliott and the Wellhouse Leisure team.

On the second day of Christmas…
Lily O’Brien’s donated delicious chocolates to be included as a well-deserved sweet treat for young cancer patients in hospitals throughout the country. Lily O’Brien’s have made this generous donation for many years and we are hugely grateful for this support.

On the third day of Christmas…
Richard Fitton of Fitton and Co became the first Corporate Santa of the year AND the first ever double Corporate Santa! Richard responded to our emergency appeal in the spring to support the charity when the COVID measures prevented many of the charity’s fundraising activities by committing to and making his £500 Christmas donation. He then donated another £500 when we launched the Christmas Gift Appeal.

On the fourth day of Christmas…
Companies came together in kindness and donated items for the Christmas Gift Boxes for patients. Approved Foods donated healthy, tasty snacks, Clarke Rubicon created bespoke gift boxes, Glick donated luxury gift wrap and Sheards donated packing boxes. A huge thank you to these kind, generous companies.

On the fifth day of Christmas…
Sarah Uttley and Express Office Solutions raised £862 through donations from friends and business networks throughout November and into December. A huge thank you to Sarah and to all those who donated to her Christmas appeal for The LCYCT.

On the sixth day of Christmas…
Our brilliant, kind and generous friend Jane Moran of Frank & Alex created our 2020 Christmas images and Christmas Appeal film.
For over ten years Jane has gifted her immense talents as the charity’s designer and has created The LCYCT brand with logos, artwork and films. Ten years into the partnership and Jane continues to work with the charity and team with enthusiasm and clearly with unlimited patience.

On the seventh day of Christmas…
The Star that tops our Virtual Christmas Gift Tree was lit up by Sheena Doherty of Sovereign Wealth Halifax with a £500 donation in lieu of Christmas cards.
Throughout November and December Sheena has been providing financial hints and tips through her Monday Money MOT with the offer of a donation to The LCYCT from charity supporters who choose to use her services.

On the eighth day of Christmas…
The Health Hub donated a fantastic festive donation of £1,500 raised by Nick Johnson who ran extra Sunday training sessions for his members throughout the year to raise much needed funds. Huge thanks to Nick, Tom, Cher and all the Hub Family.

On the ninth day of Christmas…
Two of our long-term supporters became Corporate Santas once again; The fm Company and Guy Davies of Bastion Estates. Over the festive period in more normal times we have been guests of both of these generous organisation at events and are looking forward to times when we can be together again.

On the tenth day of Christmas…
Develop UK and One17 became 2020 Corporate Santas, each donating a fabulous £500. Both organisations are generous supporters of many worthy causes and along with their fellow Corporate Santas have made a big difference to the work of The LCYCT and our support of young cancer patients at Christmas. A huge thank you to both.

On the eleventh day of Christmas…
Linden Miller and colleagues at Holmfirth Dyers raised £625 towards our Christmas Gift appeal in lieu of the hundreds of selection boxes they have previously collected for young cancer patients which was not possible this year due to COVID restrictions.
A huge thank you to Linden and all who donated.

On the twelfth day of Christmas…
Danny Pollard at Pollards Moving and Storage became our final Corporate Santa for the Christmas Gift Appeal 2020 with a generous donated of £1,000.00. Danny has supported the work of The LCYCT for a number of years as a financial donor and making numerous gifts in kind as well as attending many fundraising events - which we hope to be able to return to soon! A huge thank you to Danny, family and the Pollards team for your ongoing support.

A huge thank you to all of our 2020 Corporate Santas and to One Community Foundation Kirklees Match It! for generously matching all the Christmas donations we have received to ensure they will have twice the impact!
