Hepworth Motor Group MD Steve Brighton is no stranger to a challenge and has participated in some large cycling challenges, including the Huddersfield Town Pedal for Pounds, The Jo Cox Way and even cycled Vietnam with his wife, Nicky to celebrate their recent wedding anniversary.
Steve’s next challenge is to cycle a 500 mile route at the very tip of Scotland, incorporating parts of the gruelling North Coast 500 and he has selected two charities to support; The Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust and Emma’s Mito Mission.
The challenge starts in Fort William on Thursday 8th August 2019 and will follow the rugged coastal line of the North Highlands mountains; taking in moorlands, lochs and Highland glens and will incorporate probably the most iconic ascent of any road climb in the UK, the infamous Bealach na Bà.
Steve Brighton opted to support the two charities having met representatives at a Huddersfield Town game, and realised that as much as the charities needed funds they would also benefit from awareness being raised.
Steve Brighton commented: “The charities I have selected are local and not necessarily the charities most people would immediately think of. I have spent time with both charities and have a very good understanding of what they do and where they come from, and I feel like I am cycling the 500 miles for two remarkable young ladies who sadly died far too young but whose lives are inspiring change.”
