Predict the outcome of 40 events

To mark the landmark year that Laura Crane would have celebrated her 40th birthday, we have teamed up with our friends at Pennine Business Partners to create a prediction challenge.

Starting in September and ending on New Year’s Day, we have selected 40 events for you to predict the outcome of. The challenge is launched on Yorkshire Day (1 August 2019) and there is a distinctly Yorkshire theme to the questions, which cover a wide range of sporting, cultural and even political events that will take place in the coming months.

It’s just a £10 donation to enter and the prize fund has been kindly donated by Pennine Business Partners, so all proceeds go directly to The Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust.

Each question has a points value for a correct prediction. The person with the most points at midnight on 1 January 2020 will be the winner. There are consolation prizes for 2nd and 3rd and a special prize for the person finishing in 40th position!

Prize pool:

1st £75

2nd £50

3rd £25

40th £10

Please share with your friends, family and colleagues.

Why not start a league within your business?
You can make more than one set of forecasts provided you donate £10 each time.

To enter, simply download this prediction spreadsheet, Forecast your Forty and send it back to Steve Bradley at Pennine Business Partners (steve@penninebusinesspartners.com) who is our judge and adjudicator. Steve can’t participate in the challenge but has donated his £10 to start the ball rolling.

Entries will close at 12 noon on Monday 2nd September. Once your entry has been received, your predictions can’t be altered or amended in any way; however during the challenge more information about some of the events will be released that you will need to make predictions on, for example event participant names.

In the event of a tie, the person with most correct forecasts will win. If that is still a tie, the person who makes a correct forecast closest to the closest to midnight on New Year’s Eve will be the winner.
